On January 14th 2015 Facebook unveiled their new app that the company promised months ago “Facebook at Work”.
The app is here to rival LinkedIn and make us spend even more office time on FB than we already do.
This office-focused app for the web, Android, and iOS for the time being will only be available to a limited number of companies involved in a small pilot project. According to FB the app is still in the early stages of development. The app looks and feels like the Facebook that we are all used to, but apparently there will be no ads in the “Facebook At Work”
“We’re putting the app into the app stores so that we can begin testing the product,” said Lars Rasmussen, the engineering director at Facebook, head of the project.
It seems that Facebook has already been running a few tests of the “At Work” app to a tiny selected number of partners across the globe. Initial audience for the app is companies that have 100 or more employees.
There are still more questions than answers but we will keep you updated on the matter.
