Yes, you heard us right – Apple new Watch toy in the gold version starts from the price of $10,000. Most people see it as a luxury accessory rather than a tiny computer on your wrist. Don’t get us wrong, it is a rather powerful tiny computer and you surely can check your Instagram and Facebook updates with it, but is it really worth $10,000?
Probably doesn’t matter since there will always be queues of people to buy any product from Apple, even this slightly ridiculously priced fashion piece. And since this piece of luxury is combined with the latest gadget then even more so.
What Apple Watch never will be is an investment piece, a timeless option which a normal super-expensive watches normally are. You just can’t even think about leaving it to your children or justifying cost per wear for years to come. In a couple of years the battery will die but probably even before that Apple will launch something newer, cooler and more expensive making this year’s $10,000 Apple Watch an outdated last season’s accessory.
But let’s not be all dramatic and have a closer look at what else is actually available and how the Apple watch can improve your life – at any cost?
What at the beginning was supposed to be called the iWatch comes in two different sizes with quite a few possible combinations.
Watch sizes are 38mm (1.49-inches) and 42mm (1.65-inches) implying that they will suit women and men respectively even though Apple didn’t label them as male and female.
- Standard (stainless steel chassis)
- Sports (aluminium chassis)
- Edition (18 karat gold chassis which has been “formulated for hardness”)
All these watches come in six different straps options ranging from leather and stainless steel and a variety of colour combinations. All Apple’s watches equipped with a sapphire display.
In addition to being super-fashionable Apple Watch gives you a complete picture of your all-day activity, adds a physical dimension to alerts and notifications. For example, you’ll feel a gentle tap with each incoming message. You can use your finger to draw something quickly on the display. It has a built in heart rate sensor, can recieve and reply messages and locate you on a map among lots of other different features and options.
